Ebsco Unable to Validate Login Error when attempting to obtain Full Text articles

If you receive the following error message when trying to obtain Full-Text articles, there are several workarounds for you while the library works on solving this error.

There are several potential solutions --

1. Contact the library for help via Chat or by setting up an appointment with a librarian

2. Locate the database that holds the article. The link that failed usually lists the database that contains the full-text article.  Make a note of this database as well as the bibliographic information on the article (author(s), article title, journal title, volume, issue, date, page number). Go to the Database A-Z List, follow the link to the database, and search for the article title.  This should be the fastest way to get the record that has the full text of the article.

3. Search for the journal in which the article appears in the catalog and follow the link to the journal record.  Often you can search within the journal, if this option is available then search for the article title.  If not then look for the volume, issue, and date to locate the article.

4. Another solution would be to remotely connect to the university via the Virtual Private Network using the Cisco AnyConnect software.  Information on obtaining and installing this software can be found at https://www.uis.edu/informationtechnologyservices/connect/vpn/ Once installed -- launch the AnyConnect  software and login before searching for the article.
