How do I get a link to an article or library resource that I can access later?

Answer

When accessing a Brookens library article, journal, or newspaper, the resource link is typically temporary and expires after use, requiring you to search for the resource multiple times. To obtain a permanent link that can be accessed later, there are a few different options depending on the library resource you are using. Options like permalink and emailing the link will generate stable links. We've identified a few examples below to demonstrate.

UIS Library Search:

In the UIS Library Search, you should look for the permalink icon or option to generate a stable link that can be copied and pasted:

EBSCOhost Databases:

In EBSCOhost databases, such as Academic Search Complete, look for the Tools menu that contains an arrow, which, when moused over, displays the "Share" option.

From there, you will be able to choose between copying the link or sharing the resource through a variety of ways, including email.

If you need additional help, you can always email or make an appointment with a librarian.
